Palawan’s Best Kept Gem: Trattoria Altrove

The iconic Italian restaurant of Palawan, Trattoria Altrove, can also be found in Metro Manila!

For not more than a 2 hour drive from Quezon City lies a branch of Trattoria Altrove located at BF Homes, Las Pinas.

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary dinner at their El Nido branch and it was amazing.

We are pumped to know if the quality is similar to what we had experienced at Palawan. 

Upon entering the restaurant, I immediately felt the same warmth and charm as if I was transported back to El Nido.

It is quite surprising for the restaurant to keep their ambience the same with their branches at Palawan despite of this being located in the hustle and bustle of Mega and Metro Manila.

Our shoes were also taken and we had to walk around the restaurant in barefoot just like it is when we dined at El Nido. Nostalgic.

A live singer was present too and each table were candlelit. These simple details makes up a great restaurant for dates and other intimate gatherings. 

I asked for an ice cold flavored beer first to relax and unwind after the excruciating traffic we had to go through then proceeded to order.

We were also served with complimentary bread  paired with a balsamic-olive oil dip.

For pasta, we got their Alla Carisca.
Al dente Fettuccine in a classic cream based sauce, topped with Bacon, Thyme, and Zucchini.

Perfectly balanced taste and sauce to pasta ratio.

Its serving size is enough to make two people full.

Now the pizza, we also got our classic one which is the Margherita. Crushed tomatoes, Mozzarella, and Basil. Simple yet gastronomically satisfying. No other words can describe how good it was.

This whole pizza is quite big and it can feed up to 2-3 people (or might be even more depending on the apetite).

Wished we ordered more but our stomach’s capacity has reached its fullness already.

I still wanted to stay and enjoy the food and atmosphere but we have a long road to drive ahead of us for the night.

It is only a chance of one in a million where you would find a restaurant this great.

Authentic Italian cuisine, fast service, and perfect ambience.

My only concern was the traffic and bad route we had to endure going to its area.

Well at least it’s better than flying on a plane.

Overall, it’s all worth the traffic, whole experience was unforgettable. I’m dying to go back only if I have the opportunity. Truly recommended.
